These are the four hotels used by the Army for quarters at the Redistribution Station. The facilities of all of them are available to you.

THE PROCESSING PROGRAM Asheville Auditorium. The processing section of the station occupies the lower level of this building. The Redistribution Station processing which you will receive before your departure divides itself into six parts: (1) The Education and Information Division wil give you a program of approximately seven hours during your stay here. It will consist of talks and movies on the progress of the war, the GI Bill of Rights, Current Events, and operations in the several theaters of war. Special emphasis si given in this program to probable postwar problems. These lectures will be held at the Vanderbilt Hotel. (2) You will be given a careful physical examination. This will be accomplished before your assignment interview so that the classification officers will be able to consider your physical conditio nwhen recommending your new assignment. The Medical Department is on the ground floor of the Battery Park Hotel.

(3) You will take a new Army General Classification Test. This will be given in the processing rooms in the lower level of the Auditorium. (4) Right after your classifciation test all your reords will be reconditioned and brought up to date. You will be interviewed to verify corrections and additions. (5) You will be given a classification and assignment interview by experienced classification specialists. Your physical condition, the results of your tests, and your past experience, will be taken into consideration. We cannot promise you that you will be assigned to any certain place or outfit. The mission of this section is to adjust your own ability to the ever changing needs of the service. If a special problem arises in your case, the interviewer will take you to the Personnel Consultant who is there to help you. (6) Intelligence officers will interview you so that your experience with equipment, weapons, enemy tactics, and other military matters can be added to our present military information. You will be invited to express your opinion on intelligence matters. The interviews, examinations and lectures described above complete the processing at this station. They will take only a small part of your time, and it is expected that your group will be completely processed within the first few days of your stay. The balance of your time here is your own for rest, sports, social activities, and sightseeing trips.

MILITARY COURTESY AND CONSIDERATION OF OTHERS We expect to help you to the best of our ability. We also expect you to cooperate with us. You stand no formations here except for processing. There is no reveille, and no retreat. You will be given no details if you do your part. Be where your group is supposed to be when it is supposed to be there. Be careful in matters of military courtesy. You are overseas veterans. You all ahve accomplished a mission. People are ready to be proud of you if you are proud of yourself.
