the whole shouting match. They are spoiled to death. & infected with the Vanderbilt = worship which pervades the village & much of Asheville. That was the cause of recent reactions and I was surprised you didnt understand when I wrote to them I was writing to them. We had a pretty good Christmas for a hospital. &

got quite a lot of graft. Mrs. [?] had considerable luck, but will probably tear up her clothes in a month or two. Why will she tear around as if she were perpetually running for a train?
I'm very glad your father is better. But make him behave himself till he's clearly out of the woods.
