Hello Darling,

Your letter of May 24th arrived today, thanks a million, thats the ending of a almost perfect day, the best under the conditions any way.

I'm certainly glad Mrs. Fink is improving that really is good news, tell her to keep up the good work and hurry home and I'll see her just as soon as possible, in the meantime best wishes for good health and take good care of herself.

So our ex division commander has arrived in the statse, I knew he was on the way, we have a new one now. It dosen't mean that I'll be along any time in

the near future though, I wish that it did!

I'm afraid you are a little mixed-up on Philps furlough, he went to Scotland to see his parents. I suppose I didn't make it very plain in my first letter where he was going. He came back yesterday, had a very nice time. I'm sorry if I [crossed out word (misformed)] misinformed you about it. He got some things for you on his trip (for me) and they have been mailed, shouldn't take long for them to arrive. No, he wasn't burned but very little, several weeks ago and just took treatment for several days.

I hope you haven't sent me a pen, if you haven't don't, because I bought one here

the other day, not this one I'm writting with eather. The one I bought is a Waterman though it was only cheap but I might loose it too, so its just as well that it didnt cost but $1.50 about a three dollar pen! Came in the p.x. ration. If I get the chance, I maby buy a better one when we get to a more permant place. An eversharp (sky-line) I think thats what they are called came though the p.x. and special service offices now and then.

Had hams for supper, my, my, they were good, plus hot biscuits - no meat but I though the supper was pretty good, anyway.

Yesterday we had [illegible] again, I'll be glad when I can buy or make all I can eat, that would be an awfull

lot of in - [illegible word] especially the way I feel now. I hear straw-berries have a hard time, I think I watch them too close, maby its the old woman that owns them, she's out there from morning till night. The other morning James & I were going to have berries and cream for breakfast, I went out to pick them while he made a fire to cook breakfast, it was eather too dark or the woman picked them the evening before anyway no soap. I've managed to get two so-far.

Take good care of yourself Darling Love always and I'll be seeing you,

Charles.

P.S. My stationary is a wee-bit low better send me some, I have enough for several days.

Hello Darling,

I don't know if, I'll do a very good job of writting tonight or not I'm very sleepy Missed my afternoon snooze, guess that the trouble.

Went to [crossed out word (Dartmouth)] Dourmond at noon today, the truck was making a trip for ice so I went just to be going. Its quite a large town, pretty well brokenup. They certainly have a funny way of freezing ice, the blocks are about 6 inches square and three ft long, I guess ice is ice what-ever the shape might be.

Philp was telling me about the things he bought for (me) you, said the bracelet was very pretty and the scarf came from Scotland I'll be glad when I can see them too. He had to get a clothing stamp from his brother to buy it, he shouldn't have took
