Hi Mom,

How is every one there? Just fine I hope.

As for me I am all O.K. as usual.

Well, we are on our way to the States. But we don't know for sure if we get a leave. You see, we have a 1,000 solders on board with us.

And they say we will be there just long enough to get them off, and take on more supplies. From there, Tokeo I guess. I think the only chance I have of getting a leave is to

That is the reason I [crossed out word (didnt)] ^(don't) go up for cox. in Dec.

Petty officer very seldom get transfered.

this letter won't go off till we get there eny way.

So you may get a telegram before you get this.

By the way what part of Calif. is "BO"! in?

Hello Mom,

How is every one now?

Well, I guess we'll be in the states by day after tomorrow. San Pedro, Calif. So the Capt. said.

He called us all to quarters yes-teday and said they had given us transport duty.

All the carriers in this class has also.

The Langley has duty in the Atla. now.

He said we would be in the states 4 days. So that means I will have a couple of libertys there. He said he was going to give liberty from 1 oclock one day un. till 11 the next morn.

And said if some thing happened and we couldn't get back by 11 he [crossed out word (would)] would have to give us another hour. ha!

He doesn't like it because we don't get a leave.

The big shots in P.H. wanted him to put the 1,000 solders we have on and come right back. He said he had to put up a good fight to get the 4 day in the states.

He also said that the Belleau Wood is gitting the Presedential Sitation, pretty soon.

I had hoped to see you all by Christmas.

But I guess I'll be back in tokeo or some place by then.

I sure would like to see James. Say if he has eny pictures that was made lately send me one will you?

Which reminds me, I have a big picture of Causey, Allen and my self. I thought I would bring it home. But will send it now. Well have to cut part of it off.

As you will notice Causey and Allen have a mastage! ha!

Beleave it or not, But I did have one. Boy! you should have seen it. It looked awful. Guess I'll close as I have to go on the wheel now. Tell Sam that I am one of the guys that steers this baby.
