I joined the Canning to get some money of my own and to learn to be Industrious. and to be Strong and healthy. and for Several other reasons

My Tomato patch was on the back side of our farm. about 1 mile from the house away upon a hill. The Soil was a rich Sandy Loam. I used 8·4·4· Fertilize.

I Sowed my Tomato Seed. The plants come up and growed nicely then I trans-planted my plants then in about two weeks I Set them out. they began to grow nicely and began to wilt. I think there was about two dozen plants wilted and after a while my Tomatoes began to get ripe and I canned until I had 120

cans of Tomatoes, after our tomatoes began to get ripe we went camping and fishing trips and to picnics. I have learnend how to can and to cook by joining the Canning club. I canned a part of my Tomatoes and we eat apart and apart of them rotted. my work cost me about $7.00
