Dear Miss Stevens,

Thank you for the material on the humane treatment of laboratory animals. It is a subject close to my heart. I wonder if the public knows about the many puppies and kittens which they have brought to roadside sales stands (dogs, in this case) for sale? I have been told that many of these animals are sold to experimental laboratories immediately!

Well, at the moment Bill S.3570 must be pushed through. I have written to my own Congressman and have urged all the people who would listen to do the same. Now will you kindly send this same material you sent me to the below people? I hope the enclosed dollar will help pay for the printing and postage. I wish I could send more. It might help if you stuck one of my address labels oneeach batch sent out. Many, many thanks for all you are doing.
