March 30.

Papa made my hot bed for my seed, but I had to wait for it to get down to the right temperature, before I could have the seed sown and the hot bed was covered with canvas to protect the seeds and to help keep them warm. (Kind Stone)

In a few days my little plants began to peep. up through the ground.

Oh, how happy I was when they began to show themselves; and how those plants did grow.
