I joined the Tomato club when Miss Schaeffer came to Bessemer in the spring and organized a club, becausae she told of all the nice things for a club member and I really wanted to make some money of my own.

It was about May the twenty fifth when I mixed up some bordeaux mixture and went out to spray my plants. This being about ten o'clock in the morning the sun was getting rather hot.

were not strong and soon wilted right down as the sun rays were shining directly on them.

Then I went out to spray the plants that were in the fields, they were stronger, and the mixture did not kill but a small amount of them. This taught me a lesson that probably I would not have learned otherwise. But I had good-luck in getting
