History of my 1/10 acre.

I joined the canning club about May 1st. because I thought I would enjoy warking [working] in a club my One tinth [tenth] acre was not what I would selected but as it was late I had to take it. I had it flat broken and load stable menure put in drill than had it into rowes [rows] I used about a peck of cotton seed meal. I planted my tomato seed at the same time.

in a bed my beans were planted 10. of may. As soon as plants were large anough I set them out and as soon as thay were well enough rooted I warked [worked] my 1/10 with hoe well enough rooted I warked them and during the hoeing,

I did not prune them. I had no trouble with insects and if my brother hadent [hadn't] have been so . sick I could have saved a grate deal more than I did whin [when] my beans were ready to can I took them to Mrs Nixons to can as often as I could

I raised on my plot 4896. pounds tomatoes 288 pounts [pounds] of beans and my tomatoes I canned wer [were] graded them light and nead ripe and beans rat tals and medium beans On our read ripe Tomotoes and rat tails bean we put the 4H labels which means "means heart, head and hand".

Cost of work 1/10 was $13.04.

and the riciepts was $25.67.

we had lots of good times Boyaar(?) at Hertford, a Tacky party and we had a fine and made right much money and then got up a play we had lots of good times practicing for this play and gave hold(?) this in july had we had a basket picnic my brother was so sick In Sept Mrs Nixon gave us a party on her loan. We had lots of games and refreshments after noon. I think I shall have no trouble selling my tomatoes and beans I think I have fun very much
