Tomato Booklet.
Last spring Miss Stephenson came to our school one day and told us what a good thing the girls tomato club was.
This put me to thinking. Why couldn't I make some money in that way?
I decided at once that it would be nice to join so I ask papa if I might have one tenth acre for tomatoes and he said I might have it.
My plot was an oblong shape in a sandy loam. I selected this soil because it is better suited for tomatoes than low ground.
There was one two horse wago load of manure put on it then it was broken about 8 or 10 inches deep.
Next it was harrowed. This pubueried[?] the land well so it would retain moisture, This also made it easier for the plant roots to spread in the ground.
