Story of my Tomato Patch I joined the Tomato Club with the intention of making some money. then having the fruit for our own use then being taught how to can them for market.
I seleced [?] the place for my patch near a

meadow in a loose some what sandy soil, I seleced [?] it there because it was moist place and if it should be a wet season it had a good drainage.
The ground was harrowed then the munure was spread then the ground was plowed then it was harrowed again twice then it was laid

off in rows about 4 ft apart and the fertilizer put in the rows then a little ridge made up on that [?] and the ridge flattened down. I sowed the seed in a hot bed and when large enough I set them out, but ariving [?] to the dry season I had to replant about

twice or three times, when the plants had grown some they were plowed and hoed, they were plowed and hoed about 4 or 5 times, some of them were staked and some others were pruned.
