11 mo 17th 1836 Cold & very chilly, thermometer at 10 degrees. In the evening wind at East began to snow in the night, it blew a gale & a snow storm.

18th Wind NW. Some snow, some rain & very wet. The tide very high in some places over the wharves. The ground cover with [SLEET?]

24. 1 A rain stom, wind SE to South blew a gale

2nd 2 mo The weather of late has been moderate for winter. Today it came to be very cold. The thermometer at 4 above. In the night it was 2 below.

5th Cold & very chilly in the afternoon there was a snow storm wind North to NE & blew a gale. The weather since this month came in has been very boisterous & cold, frequent showers of snow which keeps the ground covered with snow. The harbor is inpasible [INPASSABLE] on and of ice which has made it several miles beyond the Bar.

Henry Tracy from Boston lies one or two miles to the Northward of the Bar in the ice.

14.2 Tracy's vessel got in nearly to Brant Point.

6th 2 mo We have had the longest spell of severe cold to continue day after day without intermission that has been noticed for many years. The thermometer has ranged from 10 above zero to 2 below. This morning there was no water to be discovered from the highest [???] no where round the Island, neither the North side nor South side of the Island.
