Dear Dr. Kissinger, Enclosed is a portrait taken of you at the Naval War College podium last week by our Navy photographer, Petty Officer First Class Rick Boyle. Also enclosed is our "hot off the press" copy of our latest edition of the Naval War College Review. My introduction on pages one and two (written a couple of months ago) pertains to what you and I discussed in public March 8th. Our translation of your taped remarks of March 8th is also included in this package. If, after you check and correct the copy, you would permit me to publish it in the next NWC Review, I would appreciate it very much.
I realize that there are many considerations involved in decisions concerning the exposure of both the video tape and the speech copy. I will guard both until I hear from you. Meanwhile, next week I hope to be mailing you the advance copy of the April Atlantic Monthly which will contain my recent article. Sincerely, James Stockdale
