In 1484 Peter Schoeffer painted the 1st ed. of the Herbaius Latinus. It was the 2nd illus. herbal, one of the earliest work to have a title page + the 1st herbal printed in Germany. The Herbiys Latinus was published in 11 edition before 1500, with the last ed. published in 1565. Johann Petri was the 2nd printer at Passan. The Herbarius Latinus was the most popular herbal of the incurabule period. All plants were rto be found in Germany: Then names are given in Latin + Germany, followed by a short description.
