Annual Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the
Ohio University Wednesday June 20th A.D. 1877
The Board of Trustees of the Ohio University convened at the usual place
of meeting in the University building on Wednesday the 20th day of
June AD. 1877 at half past nine O'Clock A.M.
The following members were present,
President William H. Scott, Rev Amos Miller, Hon A.G. Brown,
Hon V.B. Horton, Hon L. Jewett, Joseph M. Dance, Hon E.H. Moore,
Dr William Waddle, Hon. R. de Steigner, Hon Thomas Ewing, Hon W.W. Johnson,
Hon. H S. Bindy, Hon George W Boyce.
There being a quorum present the meeting was opened with
prayer by President Scott.

President Scott then presented his annual communication
which was read, and on motion referred to Messrs Horton and
Johnson.

The Committee on Finance made their annual report
which was referred to Messrs Waddle + Miller.

On motion Mr Waddle was appointed a committee of one
on the reports of the Examinations appointed at the
last session of this board.

On motion the Board proceeded to the election of officers
for the ensuing year which resulted as follows.

Joseph M Dana, Secretary
Joseph M Dana, Auditor
Eliakim H. Moore, Treasurer
William A Root, Collector

Ordered that said Auditor and Treasurer each enter into
bonds in the usual amounts conditioned according to law,
and the Acting Committee are authorised to approve
said bonds.

On motion the present Acting Committee was continued
for the ensuing year, [crossed out: which resulted as follows] and
President Scott was added to said Committee
