A very hot day. We had
a thunder cloud but
no rain to do any good.
I hope it may rain soon.
We need it so bad.
Ben mowed some oat
this morning and cut some
this evening. He went
to Strait Stone and
got twine. He made
a quick trip. He let all
the children go. Jim
and John and Henry worked
on the tobacco. Jim [?]
the potatoes. It needed
nearly 100 slips to
replant the slips.
I made Franklin a
middie to day. I don't
know hoe it will
look but hope it will
do very well. I have
not made any thing of
that sort in a long
time.
