Wednesday, November 18, 1918 (revised)

Mostly cloudy today Had a thunder storm late. Ben and Owen shucked corn nearly all day. Josie and I stripped tobacco the Owen children helped. Janie Gravley and Effie Brumfield are here to night I am glad to have them. Had a letter from Thelma Brumfield to day. I am so anxious to hear from Jim Brumfield. There is so much sicknessI am a fraid he is sick. Henry and Edna went to school to day. I am a shamed to make so many mistakes. [scratch outs and ink blots]
