Andover June 15th /52
Dear Parents,
Last Saturday afternoon
the letter from home was received with, as
usual, much pleasure. This leaves me in
good health + spirits, but the weather is
very warm indeed - Yesterday + to day, have
been the warmest of the season. We have
to put forth some more exertion to have
good lessons, for the weather has a tendency
to make one stupid. No news, except the
death of a classmate of which no doubt you
have read in the papers. F.A. Hall is the
one who has been taken. You have often
heard me speak of him; he was a son of
P.M. General. He was sick but five days -
The many seasons through which we have
passed lead me to go into particulars -
No one of the whole school could have been
selected whose death could have been
such a feeling to pervade the school -
Being of such high birth he was known
nicely - Our board comes some less than
a dollar a week - Our situation as beautiful
as ever - Please give a kiss to Hattie for me
I am glad he goes to sunday school. He likes
Miss Cushing also. How is Charlie's garden? I hope
when I come home to see it well taken care of. I am
looking forward to that time with much pleasure. Expect to me as
smart
as can be.

to work yet
