Dear Mother,
They work us pretty hard here.
I have to go to Boston for a new suit of
clothes for my gray coat is wearing out at the end
of the sleeves. I wish you would send me
some old pantaloons for working pants + a good
stout old pair for playing ball in for it is some-
times necessary to fall down in the dirt + it
soils good pants. I can also use them for riding
pants. Do you wish me to ride any this fall
or to wait until spring. I will ask for the
6th time shall I send help ??? + Woodwards
statement of the trip directly to them or send
it to you first.

On one of my napkins I find ???
Gifford inscribed + the other has several
openings through it called holes or ???.
Will you please send me some directions
about buying the table cover for you.
These are all the requests I can ask of you.
