The exercises have opened by an anthem
sung by the Theologs. Choir, followed by excellent
selections from the scriptures read by Prof. Smith.
This was followed by the address of Prof. Barrow
+ the whole concluded by the chant "Thy will
be done". I will give a full account of other
proceedings in my letter to Alice. If it had
not been so cold a day the exercises would
have been longer at the grave. The wind blew
very strongly from the north + made us quite
cold. I put on extra underclothes + was as warm
as toast except my face which I could not cover.
In Alice's letter she says that you say to buy
spiked shoes do you really mean it for they
cost about $4. The would be a great help to me in
playing ball + I would use them in college.
I have taken 10 of Dr. Lippe's powders. + have had
no return of the complaint.
