Know all men by these presents, that we phelon Dyer,

Anthony Owens, Paul Jones, & William Gaiter,
All of Caroll parish Louisiana, Do hereby constitute, appoint
and confirm, P. O. Simmons of same parish & State our lawful
Attorney, and agent; for the purpose of representing us in all
matters appertaining to our joint and several rights, and intrests
in and to all of the crops of cotton and corn made by us, and
under our direction in the years of 1865 and 1866, and also to represent
us in all of our respective interests, dues demands & debts
Connected with the Black Bayou plantation, owned by Gory Hood
for the above named years, & also for the years of 1867 and 1868:
With full power to transact any and all matters, or acts
for us, as fully as though we were personally present
ourselves, with full power of substitution and revocation.
Hereby authorising the said P. O. Simmons to receive, apportion

and apply our joint and several interests as he deems just & proper
thereby representing our joint and several claims, demands and
debts, first securing unto his own use and behoof, the sum
of Sixteen hundred and sixty-eight dollars and fiftien cents
the amount secured by our lein made to Him on the 24th day of

September AD 1866, with use and also the sum of Ten hundred and Eleven
dollars and seventeen cents being the additional amount furnished
included
us in Supplies & goods in the year 1866 & not included mentioned in said
lien with us from the 1st day of Januay 1867 For which purpose this power
of attorny is confered unto the said J. O. Simmors - and we
do hereby transfer all of our joint & several interests in and
to the above named crops, & promise as above stated unto the said
J. O. Simmons, or so much therof as becomes necessary to pay the above
acknowleded accounts, and the necessary costs of Collecting, and adjusting
