Sydney 17th November 1857

Sir

In acknowledging the receipt of your letter of the 3rd instant, recommending at the instance of the Commandant of Native Police, the allowance of an additional sum daily to the officers employed in recruiting for that Corps in the Lower Darling, I am directed to inform you that the Native Police Corpors must be made useful by recruiting
