Senior Constable Denis Keane Reg No. 445 most respectfully applies to the Commissioner of Police through his Inspector for a Transfer from the Townsville District to the Morton [sic] District. The Senior Constable's reason for making the application is owing to his Wife Getting bad health here and Doctor White of Geraldton advised him to Send her South at once which The Senior Constable did on the 14th of last January and his Wife and Family is Since then living in Ipswich. The Senior Constable is Eight and a half years in the North and he trusts his Inspector will be kind enough to recommend his application

Forwarded. Sen Cons Keane appears to be attending well to his duties but Moresby River Station is no place for a woman. When I saw the Station it was a Hut without doors or windows. I do not know if Mr Gulland has made any improvements as requested. [initials] J.B.I. Inspr 2/c

Inform Insp Isley that I have ^ seen Mr Nash today, who states that he has given order to improve the Quarters at Moresby River, and Sen Constable Keane knows of it. However Mr. Nash will[?] soon be up there and if nothing has been done, the matter is to be brought before his notice - & he will see carried out anything which requires doing.
