Re your letter of 21st ultimo, bringing under notice the conduct of 1/c Constable E.P. Smith, I will, in view of your strong recommendation and the Constable's "solemn" and "sincere" declaration, be satisfied to take a somewhat lenient view of his case this time and direct that he be severely reprimanded, and cautioned that any lapse will entail dismissal.
