Police Department Cook District Eight-Mile Station March 19th. 1886

Senior Constable James Geraghty D24 respectfully applies through his Inspector to the Commissioner of Police for a transfer from the Cook District to Some Station in the Southern Districts The Senior Constables reason for applying for this transfer is his wifes ill health who during twelve (12) months residence at this Station Suffered very much from illness & had to leave & is now living in Brisbane The Senior Constables is three (3) years in this District & for two (2) years was Separated from his wife who had to live in Brisbane on account of her ill health & there being no accommodation on the Stations the Senior Constable was in charge of The Senior Const. hopes his Inspector who is acquainted with the facts of his application will recommend the Senior Constables transfer The Senior Constable under the circu -mstances would be Sorry to leave the district as he has received every kindness from his Inspector
