Head Qtrs N.M. Police
Rockhampton 14th July 1862
Sir,
I have the honor to submit for your consideration, that although I am, (as a Cadet with the N M Police) entitled to an allowance of 2/6 per diem, exclusive of pay proper _ being £100 Stl. per annum, I have not received the same.
When joining I was most distinctly given to understand this the said Allowance would be granted to me. Will you therefore, be good enough to inform one whether I am to receive the allowance in question, on each infecture[?] ; as it appears that altho' the sum for this contingency has been payed by the "Committee of Supply", it has not for upwards of five months been paid.
You will be aware that out of £100 (after paying for board &c it is
