Rockhampton 14th July 1862

Sir,

I have the honor to submit for your consideration, that although I am, (as a Cadet with the N M Police) entitled to an allowance of 2/6 per diem, exclusive of pay proper _ being £100 Stl. per annum, I have not received the same.

When joining I was most distinctly given to understand this the said Allowance would be granted to me. Will you therefore, be good enough to inform one whether I am to receive the allowance in question, on each infecture[?] ; as it appears that altho' the sum for this contingency has been payed by the "Committee of Supply", it has not for upwards of five months been paid.
