Native Police Camp

Sandgate 22nd June 64

Sir

I beg to trespass on your attention in the regard to an application I made some months since, on behalf of my brother Edward Wheeler, for an appointment to the Native Police.

Should a vacancy occur or an increase by required in the Force, I again earnestly solicit that you would take my application into your consideration.

I can conscienciously recommend him as steady and trustworthy; he is now on the Flinders River on the Valley of Lagoons, and has had practical expeerience both in bush life and the management of Blacks.

[written in left margin] Com'r of Police I should be glad to see this person employed if any suitable opportunity occurs. ***
