Necessity for further funds to complete Police Barracks Barcoo District
N.P. Camp Barcoo

Sir,
I have the honor to report that the whole of the very small sum of money £60 allowed by the Government for the erection of Police Barracks in this District is now expended, and the Barracks remain in an unfinished state.
I have already reported to the Sub Inspector several times, and in his absence, beg most respectfully to bring the matter once more before your immediate notice.
To complete the necessary buildings a further sum of not less than £30 will suffice. There are no quarters for the constables no "horse yard" without which latter it is impossible to dispense, and not a stick of furniture of any description in the officers quarters.
The buildings already erected are substantial and very cheap, as a great part of the work has been done by the constables and myself, with the gratuitous assistance of station drays. I have now been four years in this

this District in charge of the Police and have not yet enjoyed the luxury of a roof over my head. And I believe there is no other officer in the Force in a similar position.
