I held the appointment of Musketry Instructor for three years being present at the Preliminary or Recruits Drill.

I also acted Adjutant to the 2nd Batt. of my regiment for three months.

I enclose the necessary Certificates together with a letter received from Capt Turner 4th King's Own Regt. who was Adjutant when I retired.

Colonel The Hon F. Stanley commanded the regt. and I feel sure he could report satisfactorily as regards my efficiency.

In case you might be pleased to look favourably on this application I would be prepared to furnish further information.

I have the honor to be Sir Your Obedient Servant [signed] Hubert R P Durham
