Sub Inspr Smart was under influence of drink when I saw him complaining of pain across abdomen. Next day complained pain over right side. Scarcely allowed proper examination Ribs may be broken Cannot speak Certainly as he apparently shrunk from search. Was then also somewhat drunk though warned by me
