Sir,

I have the honor to forward an application from Inspector Tompson for six months leave of absence from the 1st January next on full pay, which I beg to recommend. It will however be necessary to enlarge the officers quarters at Dunrobin, as there is no accommodation there for a married man, and as it is in contemplation to abolish the Barron River Native Police Station and Mr. Carr the officer in charge there is the senior first class sub-inspector available, I would suggest that he take charge of the Georgetown district, and that Mr. Carr be made an adequate allowance towards his removal to Georgetown. Dunrobin is seven miles from Georgetown.
