Report re alleged murder of aborigine by mate of "Marie"

If this enquiry had been held when the information was first given more might have been elicited. The witnesses named by the informant have not even been examined. Mr. Fitzgerald appears to have suspected that Lee was convicted with the accusations & to have therefore disreguarded it without making proper equiries. I think his action in the matter deserves censure.

Further enquiries should be made of the persons named if it is not too late.
