Sir,

In reference to my letter of the 9th July last, I have the honor to report for the information of the Honorable the Colonial Secretary that several of the "Contingencies" Votes of this Department for the Financial Year 1893-94 are now exhausted. It will therefore be necessary, in order to meet present demands and further claims, to make a transfer from the unexpended balance of some other votes as per attached list.

The accompanying schedule shows how the "Contingencies" Vote of the Department stands at present.
