Sir,

In reply to your letter, dated the 1^st ultimo, referring to a petition sent by you to His Excellency the Governor upon the subject of your pay for three months service in the Native Mounted Police immediately preceeding your dismissal. I am directed to inform you that the forfeiture of your pay is confimed. You were well aware that dismissal would entail such forfeiture, and must, therefore, abide by the consequences of your misconduct.
