Sir,
I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 9th Instant respecting the arrival at Head Quarters of Mr. R.J. Everett, whose appointment as Cadet in the Native Mounted Police was notified to you from this office on the 21st October. It would appear that by an inadvertent omission, Mr Everett

Everett has not been informed of his appointment, nor has it been Gazetted. He is therefore to be held blameless in the matter. I have however this day communicated with him and directed him to lose no time in reporting himself to Head Quarters. He will probably do so by next Steamer.
