Colonial Secretary's Office Brisbane. 14th September 1863.

63/740

Sir, I am directed to acknowlede the receipt of a return of the Queensland Native Police Force under your Command for the Month of August last; and to inform you that, as it appears Mr. Morisset has actually been doing duty for some time, the Government consent to depart, in this single instance, from the decision conveyed by letter of the 25th. June—stating that no further appointments would be made to the Native Police Force,— by appointing that Gentleman a Cadet & such appointment dating from the time of his commencing duty.

I have &c. (signed) A. W. Manning.

The Commandant Native Police Force Rockhampton.
