Sir,

I am directed to acknowledge the receipt of your letter dated the 22^nd Ultimo, covering and submitting to favorable consideration an application from Lieutenant Moorhead that the expense of Medical attendance upon him while suffering from a severe fall from his horse while on duty may be paid out of Public Funds.

In reply I have to inform you that the matter having been brought under the notice of His Excellency The Governor in Council, the council are ready to relieve Lieutenant Moorhead of a portion of the expense incurred, and they have accordingly directed the payment of Ten Pounds to that officer
