Sir,

His Excellency the Governor in Council having been pleased to accept the resignation of Lieutenant Powell, I am directed to request that you will have the goodness to take immediate steps for placing another officer in charge of the 5^th Division of Native Police station'd in the Kennedy District, and I am further directed to instruct you in consequence of recent departmental changes, to resume the undivided charge of that Division.
