Sir,

Referring to your letter of the 1st Ultimo covering a report from Mr Chief Inspector Browne upon certain suggestions made by Mr Charles Cowper relating to the position of the native Police Barrack on "Yarwah [sic] Creek," I do myself the honor to inform you that having submitted the matter for the consideration of His Excellency The Governor in Council His Excellency has been pleased to authorize the expenditure of a sum not exceeding £100 in the removal of the present Barracks on the "Yarwah [sic] Creek" to the Bulloo River in the vicinity of Mr Dowling's Station in accordance with Mr Brownes [sic] recommen= =dation - You will be good enough to take the necessary steps to effect a removal of the Barracks as early as possible, taking care to bring the Expenditure in so doing within the amount - authorized by His Excellency.
