Dear Mr Murray

I wish to ask a favour. I am
entering for an Oxford scholarship in the
beginning of November (the Brasenose, Exeter,
& Ch. Ch. group) and among other things I have
to furnish certificates of character! Do you
think you could give me one out of your
knowledge of me during the past two years?
If you could, I should be very much obliged.

I hope you enjoy very much better health
now than you did in Scotland.
