I don't know if you can read my writing, but I am writing to you to tell you not to break your neck and also to send you some chocolates, which you must share with

Arthur and Willie.

Crianlarich is a delightful place. I have been there with John Edgar long ago and climbed Ben More. Have you managed it yet. It doesn't need a rope, but it is a long pull.

Have you caught any

trout yet? There are a great many good burns there, and also lochs.

If you want some fish-hooks, I will send you some.

I hope they take a house at St Abbs in August for then you & I will climb the cliffs with a rope.

I am very busy, and get no holidays, like you.

Give my love to Arthur & Willie & take care of your necks.
