UNION SOCIETY, OXFORD.

Brasenose.

Nov: 30: '97

My dear Mother,

I have not heard from you since my last, but I hope you are all well. The weather is getting bad again, but I am tolerably well, only colded, like everybody else. I wish I had not to speak in the Union on Thursday; I am afraid I shall chirp like a crow. I was confined to my rooms all Sunday with the said cold, but I

scholarship. I am getting fairly well on with my History of Brasenose.

I hope to be home either on Saturday week or Monday week, I am not quite sure which. But I will let you know later. Ask Anna if she wants any book especially, and tell me if you want me to bring anything. I am looking forward to seeing you all again. I hope Father had good audiences yesterday.

With love to Father, Anna, Willie, Ervie, Peter & yourself.

Your affectionate son John Buchan
