I caught my train this morning with heaps of time to spare. I think I must hold the record for that walk for I got to Farnham about 8.45. - like Christian on the Hill Difficulty "in a pelting heat". The real time of the train is 9.6. - I say this for the benefit of future

pilgrims. I got to my office covered with dust, and old Townsend declared severely that I looked so healthy that I must clearly be unfit for any intellectual labour. Which is a hard saying.

I do hope your husband is better. The rain seems to be coming now, for it is raining here & quite cold

Many thanks for your kindness. I enjoyed very much coming down & seeing you all again.

I have told Gamage to send Rosalind the game of 'ping-pong', but on thinking about it I am not sure whether it is for children or for grown-ups.

I have found two new good books which I recommend - 'Doom Castle' by Neil
