My dearest wee Mother
Your letter to Nan last night was very interesting. I am glad Alastair is coming to Peebles for the weekend for I should not have had a chance of a talk with him in Glasgow. My Kirkurd meeting on Saturday night is off, but I will meet my Committee at the church. Nan is very well & I think is enjoying herself. She is taking Alice today to the Wonder Zoo & the Circus. Rawling is coming to dine tonight. We had a luncheon-party yesterday for

Nan.
The house is a den of thieves just now with the workmen in the front drawing-room. You never heard such a noise as the laying of the floor makes. However it should all be over in 10 days or a fortnight.
Susie and the children are well. Alice had Mary Elizabeth and Lady Howick's little girls to play with her last night & they made a glorious row.
I am very glad you are keeping well.
Much love to all
Your affectionate son
John
