My dear wee Mother

I was hoping for some word from you this morning, for I am anxious to hear how you are. I do hope the chill is quite better now. It has become very cold again here, and I see from the papers that you are having snow in the North. I hope you will not get a fresh chill. Alec & Rosalind Maitland came to tea yesterday on their way back from Cannes to Edinburgh.

Alec looks uncommonly well, far better than he did before his operation.

Mrs Grosvenor dined with us last night. She is going to Canada at the end of April. Susie is lying up just now & very sick of it. Alice & Mr John are both very well & relatively good.

I am very busy at arrears from the holidays.

Much love to all

Your affectionate son

John
