I have just read with the very greatest interest and pleasure your "Marquis of Montrose".

From the bibliographical point of view I thought it might interest you to know that there is a volume entitled "The Memoirs of the Marquis of Montrose, Captain General of Scotland" by James Grant, Author of "The Romance of

of War".

The copy which I have is a cheap edition published by Routledge, London, in 1861. But the preface is dated 1858, in which year doubtless the first edition was issued. Running, as it does, to nearly 400 pages it gives a full & sympathetic life of the great Marquis. References to authorities are very fully given at the bottom of each page.
