My dearest wee Mother
I was very glad to get your kind letter last night. Susie wants you to tell Nan that Elizabeth Sutherland wants to come to tea on the 10th bringing Pamela in order to see them. Will she let her know if that is all right for her? We are tremendously looking forward to seeing her on Sunday. I think I'd better come back here from Carlisle on the 10th, as George Brown is not to be at Parkside that week.

We must settle the details of going to Gala Lodge when you come here. Eben will certainly kill himself with his car, for, as you say, he is no mechanic.
I dined at the Club last night & had a long talk to Kipling, & Fisher, the Education minister. George [Brown of Nelson's] is back in London today & the Nelson boys. I hope you are really feeling fairly well. We are all very well here.
Much love to all
[illegible]
John
