My dearest little Susie
I had quite a pleasant journey to Scotland yesterday, in
very bad weather. I lunched at Euston & read W. Churchill's
River War all the way up. There were tremendous floods in the
Clyde valley. I spent the night at the Caledonian Station
Hotel, which I think is the most comfortable hotel in Britain.
It was full of soldiers & sailors, but I saw nobody we
knew.
I had my hair cut this morning, & then came up to
the Works. Parkside looks a very deserted place now.
