Professor Gilbert Murray, etc., etc., Beckhythe Manor, OVERSTRAND.
My dear Murray,
I have come across the enclosed very striking quotation from Demosthenes, but unfortunately I cannot trace which of his works it is from. I wonder if it would be troubling you very much to say if you remember it? With your great knowledge you could probably put your finger on it at once.
I hope you are well. I wish we could meet sometimes. The life of all of us just now is very hustled and uncertain.
With kindest regards to Lady Mary.
yours ever,
John Buchan

[It looks as if Murray is using the back of this letter to reconstruct a fragment, probably nothing to do with the Demosthenes quotation.]
