born to be a great public servant that man is you. There are few who see so clearly, there is almost none who 'synthesises' with the completeness and the power that you do. I feel sure that you cannot stop where you are - that your most brilliant history, a work of contemporaneous utility only comparable to Russell's Crimean Letters and greater than them as the occasion is greater, is only the first step in a course which will end with fame to yourself and advantage to your country.
